Rosemary is the third shelter manager at Cats Haven, but she's the first female to be promoted to such a lofty and powerful position! Rosemary came to Cats Haven as part of a litter from Indianapolis Animal Care and Control. She and her littermates were part of a neglect investigation that finally resulted in the kitties being permanently removed from their original home. Rosemary was chosen by the Cat Council for several reasons: her fair-mindedness, her street savvy, and her famous candied cricket snacks.

I'm a baaaaaad kitty :(

I am such a bad kitty. It's been over a month since I've put paws to keyboard, and I sincerely apologize for not blogging sooner. I have a good excuse, tho. I've been a little busier than usual. Kitten season came early to Cats Haven, and I already have a mom and babies that I'm caring for. And then I've also been working with a few new ferals in our colony outside. And then there was the Extreme Home Makeover video shoot (yes, we've submitted Cats Haven for an Extreme Home Makeover . . . keep your paws crossed for us) and the Race for the Cure (great job, team!!!), and the Tour for Life at Indianapolis Animal Care and Control (congrats Ava Shorttail for finding your fur-ever home!) . . . And now we've got even MORE cool stuff coming up! So I'm taking a break for a few minutes to write a short blog to let you know what we've fun stuff we've got planning in the next couple of weeks!

Okay, first of all, this weekend (May 1 and 2), the Acrocats will be here in town at the IndyFringe  theatre (719 E. St. Clair). Aside from being an extremely cool show (cats doing tricks and playing musical instruments on command . . . can you imagine?!), the Acrocats have asked Cats Haven to be at each performance! And here's the really cool part. A portion of each ticket sold will go to Cats Haven! No kidding!!! Check these guys out at www.circuscats.com. Go to the Cats Haven home page on the website for info about getting tickets to one of the four shows. It's great family entertainment, and you'll be helping Cats Haven, too. We'll have an adoptable or two at the theatre, plus Gypsy Cats has graciously agreed to sell some of her gorgeous jewelry with profits going to the shelter. Oh, and we'll have our world famous catnip toys for sale, too.

And then Friday, May 14th, from 7 til 9, the Luxor is doing another Cats Haven fund raising evening! This is the best deal in town! For a mere $22, you get a wonderful dinner complete with appetizer, main course, dessert, and a soft drink. And I can't forget to mention the belly dancers! Meerrrroooowwwww!!!! (Family-friendly belly dancers, of course.) And a BIG portion of the price goes directly to Cats Haven! The Luxor is at 1026 Virginia Avenue in historic and very hip Fountain Square. To make reservations for this fun and filling event, call 687-9220. Oh, and again, Gypsy Cat will have some of fantastic jewelry for sale with a big chunk of each sale going to the shelter.

That's it for now. I'll blog more real soon, I promise. I've got all kinds of things to tell you guys about, from hearing from Frick and Frack (Hi Guys!!!) to introducing my new best friend Alex, who is staying with us at the shelter. (I'm so glad he's here. He even bought some new fancy, professional neckwear for me . . . he's my best friend!) We've also had some adoptions I want to let you know about, and tell you about our new adoption schedule at Specks in Brownsburg. But for now, it's late and I'm one tired puddytat. *big kitty yawn.....* - Bandit the puddytat
