I'm hoping that all the spring-y things I'm seeing are really signs that spring has sprung!!! Are you guys all as sick
of winter as I am? I've seen robins in the yard. Our lilies are coming up. Daylight saving time sprang forward. And all the
snow has finally melted. And the truest sign of spring? Barb getting the van stuck in the mud in the side yard! I think spring
really has sprung!!!! And now a moment too soon.
And along with spring comes our annual spring cleaning, which we started
this week. The shelter has been bustling with folks coming in to help sweep, mop, scrub, move, shuffle, vacuum, and pitch.
Barb has even tidied up the front porch, and she's nowhere near done. We've been doing a lot of work on the third floor, too,
as we try to get more stuff organized. And my friends Char and Alex are going to start work on the yard before too long, too!
The place is just gonna be absolutely beautious!!
I'd like to welcome a couple of new residents to the shelter. First,
welcome Edgar! Edgar is a medium-haired orange and white guy who came to us through IndyFeral (but he's not a feral cat).
He has some knee issues, but he's a really cool cat, tho. He's being fostered in a home with cats and dogs both, and he gets
along with everyone. Edgar is about a year old, loves to play, and is available for adoption. I'd also like to welcome Ava
Shorttail. Ava is a really nice tortie gal who lost an eye *and* has a short tail. She's certainly unique . . . and what a
sweetheart! She loves to be snuggled and held, so if you're looking for a cuddly gal, check out Ava Shorttail. Oh hey! And
I want to congratulate our kitten who got adopted at the cat show a couple of weekends ago! The cat show was a lot of fun,
and my good friend Lela got one of her kittens placed! How cool, huh? And my close, personal friend Meredith recently adopted
Dewey, the kitty who was thrown off a balcony last fall! Dewey had to have extensive surgery to repair a badly broken hip,
but he says it was all worth it because he found his new mom as well as kitty and dog brothers and sisters!
And
speaking of adoptions, we'll be at Moochie and Company in Castleton next to Borders on Saturday from noon til 3. We'll have
a couple of kitties who are looking for homes, so come up and say hi to the volunteers and give our kitties a hug! Next weekend,
we'll be back at Speck's in Brownsburg. Stay tuned for the day and time.
Okay, it's late and I need to get to
bed. We've got a few special events in the works, and I'll be able to tell you more about them in a week or so. Have a great
weekend, everyone!- Bandit the puddytat
